Downtown walk. “Street photography” is a genre that is a struggle. It’s easy to just fall into the cliches (“find some leading lines and wait for someone to walk by in silhouette”, “use high contrast black and white”, etc)… though frankly I’m not great at even doing the cliches. It’s also more fun as a photographer in an unfamiliar place where the day to day life on the street seems more exotic.
The nice thing is I don’t feel as compelled to be “accurate” - jacking up the contrast and saturation is more palatable than it is for natural scenes.
This walk cost $30 (first parking ticket of 2024!).
There’s a lot of sketchy bullshit going on downtown (open drug use the most obvious).
